About Momoir

Icame to Los Angeles from Brazil in 1998. I was newly married, in my twenties, certain about almost nothing except the country I was leaving and the life I wanted to build.

That same year, my husband and I started a business together. For over two decades, we've placed international students into American homes. I've spent my life watching young people land in a new country, far from their mothers, and find a way to feel safe.

That work taught me the true weight of a mother's voice from far away.

Then my own children arrived. Julia, Sophie, and Enzo. I stayed home with them until they were all in school. People called it "staying home," but it was the most important work I've ever done.

My kids are grown now. Twenty-three, twenty-two, and twenty. They live their own lives, but when life gets hard, my phone is the first to ring. They tell me my voice calms them, that I always know what to say. That is the thing I am proudest of in my life.

It is also the thing that scares me most. One day, I won't be the voice on the other end of the phone.

I started Momoir because I wanted to leave them my voice for the days I can't be there.

I wanted to tell them the small things. The way they sounded at three. The advice that came too late to give in person. The story of who I was before I was "Mom." Their story is mine, and mine is theirs.

It started at my kitchen table. I built the first version for my three. I didn't want to build an "app." I wanted to build a quiet place. A place where a mother can be herself, away from the noise of social media, "likes," or the pressure to be perfect.

Then I realized other moms might want the same thing. The same quiet place. The same way to hand their voice, their love, their advice, their story to their children one day. So I opened the door.

Momoir is for the things you want them to know one day, written the way you'd say them out loud, addressed to them by name.

No ads. No feed. No AI reading your words. Just a quiet space for your love, and the day you choose to give it to them.
